TechTools
A small, dark toolbox for Windows. One quiet window for the checks you keep reaching for.
What is in it
- Network and Wi-Fi. A connection monitor that logs latency, jitter, lost replies and roaming, plus a Wi-Fi view that finds your router and mesh nodes and warns when mesh boxes share a channel.
- Videos. A lean thumbnail viewer for a folder of clips, so you do not need a browser full of tabs.
- Disk space. Drive free space, and the three biggest files in your main folders, cached so it opens instantly.
- Running tasks and a signal dot that glows slowly when a watched job finishes.
- Usage shortcuts for your AI tools, with plain-language help and local documentation built in.
How to run it
- Download and unzip.
- Double-click
TechTools.bat. Runmake-icon.ps1once if you want a desktop shortcut with an icon.
Windows may show a SmartScreen notice because the scripts are not signed. They are plain text: open them in Notepad first if you like.
Privacy
It reads information from your own PC and starts things you click. It does not collect or send your data, and it has no accounts or tracking. To measure your connection it pings Cloudflare (1.1.1.1), Google DNS (8.8.8.8) and Google's API host (www.googleapis.com), and the Usage buttons open sites in your browser. The connection log stays in a folder next to the app.
